We are not a kennel.

Your dog isn't placed in a run for most of the day alone, or left alone overnight.

After a full day of daycare (included in boarding fee), your dog is welcomed up to our home for a cozy, overnight stay where we ensure they settle in for the night peacefully, taking care to minimize any stress they may feel by your absence.   We strive for two-way honest, respectful, and transparent communication through e-mail, phone, and text conversations and rest assured that we will contact you directly (as well as offer professional recommendations) if your dog is exhibiting signs of discomfort and stress.

Whether you're heading out for a weekend, a business trip, or an extended trip overseas, you can rest easy knowing your pup is in loving hands — with people and dog pals they already know and trust.

What's Included:  

Bedding:

We have a variety of sleeping surfaces available to your dog throughout their stay.  They can choose between an elevated cot that offers orthopedic support by alleviating pressure points on the hips, elbows, or shoulders and/or from a variety of luxurious soft beds in various sizes.   Most of the dogs choose to sleep in our  living room area, either on a couch or bed on the floor, usually with a like-minded canine pal they can trust, or a human caregiver they love and trust (if they are feeling especially stressed by being away from home).  Some dogs may benefit from having their own bed from home brought to the centre (I will let you know if I think this would be a good idea for your pup).  

 Depending on their comfort level, pups can also choose between sleeping in an open or closed crate, depending on preference.  Some dogs prefer the safety of crate sleeping if that is what they are used to at home.   We have crates available for that purpose.

Daycare:

Daily Daycare is included with every boarding stay.  Every dog is enrolled in a daycare program during their stay, custom tailored for them based on their age, breed, health, socialization preferences, & temperament.  They will be able to participate in a daily pack walk, have access to both our indoor and outdoor play areas (with pools, splash pads, ball pit, sand pit, and rotation of appropriate toys).

Regular Digital and Video Updates: 

You will receive regular, consistent digital and video updates (at least every other day)  documenting your dog's well-being, what they did, which favourite friends they spent time with, and how much fun they had!

Meals: 

Breakfast and dinner service is included in all boarding stays (puppies under 9 months are also served lunch, if preferable).

To reduce stressors and promote gut health, please provide your dog's regular food.  All food should be provided in a container that is clearly labelled with your dogs name and the amount per meal.  If your dog is on a raw diet. we have specific refrigerators and freezers dedicated to the storage of their food. If your dog runs out of food during their boarding stay, we will inform you and purchase a bag of their usual food. You are responsible for the cost of the food and a $5 convenience fee.   If there is any major change to your dog's eating habits at Canine Lane, they will be documented in any communication. It is normal for dogs to skip meals while boarding, especially if they are free fed at home. 

 If your dog has not eaten in 24 hours we will add mix-ins like broth, greek yogurt, and/or wet food after consulting with you directly, at no additional charge. 

All Medications and Supplements:

Any medications or supplements you provide will be given to your dog as instructed.  Any medication must be in the original bottle provided by the vet and the dosage must be clearly legible on the label.  There is a $5 hazardous waste disposal fee associated with any medication that must be given via a syringe. 

We limit our boarding capacity to maintain a peaceful, safe environment and ensure every dog receives the attention they deserve.

Specialized Care and Love from our Highly Trained, Professional Staff: 

Each dog in our care receives dedicated one on one time daily.  Whether that be a 15 minute session of ball play, snuggles, canine massage, or brushing, we cater to the individual preferences of your precious companion.

NOTE: We generally board only current pack members.  However, we will open up the space to non-pack members if current pack members do not require overnight boarding during the times requested.  Dogs who are preparing for an overnight stay and whom have not been to Canine Lane within the past 6 months will be required to complete 1-3 days of daycare or a 1 overnight stay to qualify for boarding. The days of daycare or boarding required will be dependent on each dog's boarding history at Canine Lane and management's discretion.
