Welcome to Canine Lane! I'm the proud owner of Canine Lane and I hope to help you ensure that your dog is living their best life! I live AND work at the centre. Dogs are my life. And we would love to welcome you to our pack family! My personal journey with dogs began with the first love of my life, a large mixed breed named Lady, who slept underneath my crib from the time I was born and didn't leave my side for the first 7 years of my life. Currently located in the beautiful Sapperton area of New Westminster, BC, we are a dream commute, only 3 minutes from HWY #1, walking distance from 2 skytrain stops. i currently live on-site with my own 3 furbabies: Lulu, Ruby and Nyx. Living on-site ensures that I am invested 100% in creating a positive experience for you and your pup. Though we operate at commercial standards, my home is literally your dog's home away from home. I love the dogs paradise of a community we have here in New West and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I have a B.A in Psychology and spent 15 years working with marginalized individuals as a Community Service Worker/ Probation Officer with the Department of Justice/Ministry. A nerdy interest in science-based learning and bio-chemistry served to later foster my research in canine psychology, biology and behaviour, and provided me with the educational foundation required for working with dogs. I have had the pleasure of working with dog rescue organizations and training facilities in various capacities, engaged in countless online webinars and courses, and have trained and worked with a variety of dog personalities and breeds, from Dobermans to Chihuahuas. You can relax knowing that I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR and that your baby will be in safe hands. Being well versed in canine body language, and social cues, I am able to spot and prevent negative behaviours and associations that can arise in group play. I have taken the Dog Trainer Immersion Program from the Karen Pryor Academy and am preparing for my CPDT-KA designation (Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers) at a later date. My first love is trick training, so there is a good chance that your little one will be showing you some new moves after some time with us. We know that the needs of our individual dogs vary so incredibly much - according to size, learning style, age, drive, breed, background, and even by the day! By keeping our membership numbers low, we can offer dedicated, individual attention and the level of loving supervision that you, our clients, expect. We think you're wonderful already, just for clicking on our site. Someone that seeks out conscientious care for their furkid must be wonderful people! In 2019, I began my own part-time dog walking and boarding service with a focus on curating an individual experience tailored to the dogs specific needs, with a highlight on creative enrichment. My client list soon grew and I felt limited in what I could offer the dogs in my care. So, I decided to take a risk and completely invest all of my resources and efforts into Canine Lane... in order to provide your pup with the daycare experience they deserve or want, rather than the typical dog daycare experience. If I can make the life of one pooch easier or better (with the least amount of stress possible), that is success. I am grateful to all of my own furbabies over the years, that they graced me with the pleasure of knowing them and loving them, and being ever so patient about my mistakes. I attribute the best of my insights into dog behaviour to their unconditional love. I wouldn't be anywhere without them. xx Wags from The Pack, Cindy Inness Head Canine Life CoachCanine Lane
Like Montesoori but for dogs! Much like a human child's daycare, our dog daycare and dog boarding program in New Westminster, revolves around creative enrichment, confidence building exercises, impulse control lessons, basic manners training, as well as social group play. All of the dogs we welcome to our program are immediate members of our pack. Their safety and healthy engagement in play and learning are paramount at our centre. We want the ability to focus on each dog individually throughout the day. Due to our limited space, we can only accommodate low numbers of like-minded playpals for now. To avoid being disappointed, sign up for a membership! We hand select all dogs for compatibility with our space and our existing dogs. This ensures a positive and safe atmosphere for all and allows us to concentrate on setting your pup up for continued success every day! NOT YOUR AVERAGE DAYCARE I am dedicated to making clients lives easier by incorporating basic and fun training and guidance into the daycare setting. There are valuable opportunities for your dogs to learn good manners, master fun tricks, and strengthen their self-confidence all while they are busy having a blast! I am happy to support pet parents with the opportunity to offer their pups positive-reinforcement (R+) training. In the course of one day, your dog may practice new skills, learn a new trick, be introduced to an agility obstacle course, chase bacon flavoured bubbles, wrestle in the ball pit with a buddy, lounge on the tire tunnel, have a "Paw"dicure, and then make you some paw art to take home to proudly display! The focus is on fulfilling both your dogs mental and physical exercise needs, reinforcing good manners through integrated training, as well as offering opportunities for healthy social play. We want your baby to be safe, comfortable, and happy whenever they are with us. And we want you to feel secure knowing that you have left your furbaby in good hands. As a member of our family pack, they will always be cared for as one of our own. With us, they will feel right at home!
