Our dog Daycare Program In Beautiful New Westminster, BC

 Our enrichment-based, training (R+) immersive daycare program is designed to give your dog a premium experience.

 We understand how hectic life can get with work, family and all of your daily commitments.  This makes it difficult to give your four-legged family members the attention and exercise they require.   As a society, more is expected of us humans but less is expected of our furry besties.  

Not long ago, our dogs 'worked' their minds and bodies daily.  They herded sheep, guarded cattle, drove out badgers, helped humans flush out prey and the list goes on...This was enough to satisfy their need for mental and physical exercise.  Presently, the true working dog is rare.  To live a truly fulfilled life, your dog requires outlets to satisfy their instinctual , natural behaviours (foraging, seeking, exploring, sniffing).   Without such outlets, dogs can begin to manifest distressing, nuisance behaviours  (such as digging, barking excessively, reactivity issues etc.).  

 This is a problem that we would like to help you solve!  With our creatively hybrid dog daycare program, most of your dogs physical and mental needs are being met while you are at work.  Enrichment-based daycare is the new standard in canine care and development and the dog professional community is acknowledging that constant social play alone is not recommended for most dogs longterm.

And dogs are not all the same!  Just like us, they can be selective about their friends, have different play preferences,  are various in their likes and dislikes, and overall preferences.

Here, play time is customized for each individual dog and includes a combination of physical and mental exercises.

They will:

• engage in social group play with other dogs (small, hand-selected playgroups)
• join us on one of our very popular adventure pack walks and swims
• receive basic manners training and encouragement when practiced
• work on foundational dog sport skills
• splash around in our outdoors water fun area
• spend time on confidence building exercises and games
• practice impulse control skills
• learn new tricks!       

Each dog also has the opportunity for individual human bonding time during the rest/quiet period(s) in our day, where they receive snuggles, handling, training or maintenance brushing (if needed). This provides a unique opportunity to bond with your pup, and this allows them to feel like they truly are at their "home away from home".

WE OFFER CAR SERVICE!  Our location is already super convenient for commuters and you can free up even more minutes in your day! 

 Between the hours of 6:30 a.m and 9:30 a.m, you are able to simply drive up into our convenient parking area, text us that you have arrived, and we will come  to you!  We will collect your dog and bring them into the centre for you, at no charge.  Now you can enjoy your morning coffee awhile longer.

HERE'S WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE (This is a loose guideline and activities change day to day):

6:30 am - 10 a.m - light, free social play, intros, items put away on their hook, and good morning smooches! - Dogs who are fed at the centre will be fed separately during this time.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

10 a.m - 11:45 a.m  - activities will involve any of the following: lil pup/big pup adventure pack walk or swim, wading pools or splash pad, digging sandbox, engagement and impulse control games, obedience refreshers/mat training/basic manners/trick training, puzzles, foraging exercises or other problem solving activity or game.

12 Noon-1:30 p.m - quiet time - We play soft music to relax the dogs and get them comfortable on a kuranda bed, or a soft bed (whatever they prefer).  I spend some time with all the dogs individually during this time and do any brushing and/or light massage if they need it, snuggles and smiles always.   

1:30 p.m -3:00 p.m -If individual walks are scheduled, we do solo walks and/or a brief pack sniffing walk (staff permitting).  We may spend some time doing platform and body awareness exercises, impulse control exercises, foundational agility exercises. During this time, we may also do silly photo shoots or paw art according to the particular theme that week or month.

3:00 p.m -4:30 p.m - Social Group Free Play

4:30 p.m - 6:30 p.m - Wind down time until pick-up and smooches good-bye! 

Your dog will be given the opportunity to go potty several times throughout the day as they will either be taken as a group out to our own dog run/yard area or out on walks.   The potty areas are completely rinsed down and disinfected daily with a natural, live eco-enzyme product, keeping your pups safety in mind.

Once your pup has acclimatized and developed trust, they are allowed to fully free-roam around our centre (and for many pups, are also allowed up to our residence).  There is constant supervision but, unless they prefer it, members of our pack are not crated or kenneled at anytime during the day.  They soon become familiar with the play areas, areas of retreat, mealtime areas, as well as the best places to take a snooze in the sun (or where the good treats are hidden!).

If you would like your pup to eat a meal while they are with us, just let us know and bring a labelled pre-portioned bag of food with your dog's name and the date and any other instructions that are applicable.  

(Please do not send glass containers due to the possibility of breakage/safety risk)

*If you wish for your pup to be fed with our "Breakfast Club" at the centre, they must be here by 7:30 a.m.   

Only puppies get fed at lunch time (11:30 a.m).

* Note: Not all meals are provided in a bowl - as we are geared towards enrichment, dogs are hand-fed throughout the day in the course of training and often snufflemats, as as well as puzzles are utilized).

We offer report cards, photos and videos  so you can view your dogs progress and how they have spent their day.

WE TAILOR OUR PROGRAM TO YOUR DOG.

We are not just a daycare for young pups who love to play and learn.  We also welcome the older dog who may just want to snooze, watch *DOG TV, and get cuddles or brushed and massaged! 

 And we can also definitely teach your old dog a new trick (or two!).

We can cater to the shyer/quieter dog who doesn't love alot of social stimulation but may just benefit from one other canine pal to play with or prefer the company of a human to follow, bond and snuggle with. 

Our small playroom is the perfect size for "Littles" (dogs under 15 lbs) to engage in social play or even just to nest and burrow into a comfy bed and blanket.  

And of course our tiniest members will also get alot of one on one snuggles and love throughout the day.  

OUR MEMBERSHIP MODEL

We  operate on an exclusive membership basis. 

This means that when you subscribe with one of our  monthly memberships,  the monthly spot is reserved for your pup and your pup alone.  

Nobody else can take or use that spot. 

Not only is membership the most cost effective option, but we also  only board our regular clients.   So, you will have the peace of mind knowing that your pup has a familiar and loving 2nd home to go to when you go away on vacation or a business trip.

To become a member, the minimum attendance is once (1 full day) per week.  It's important for the dogs to be able to depend on familiar faces and not have to exist in a continuous, state of alert while they are here.     For this reason, we don't take walk-ins or drop-ins.   We don't want your dog continually stressed or agitated with new and unfamiliar human or canine newcomers on a daily basis. 

 Depending on your membership  level, you will either have the choice of your pup attending daycare on a specific day each week that is a RESERVED spot exclusively for you or you will have PRIORITY status when it comes to reserving your spot. 

   No more frustration about expired packages or worry that you won't be able to reserve a certain day at the last minute.

 And again, if you are interested in boarding, we ONLY board daycare clients.  As a member, you are our priority.

OUR FACILITY AND SAFETY

We know that your dogs safety is important to you.   We want you to know how important it is to us as well.

•  Our playroom floors are specially designed with your dog’s comfort in mind. The specialized, compressed rubber is soft, comfortable on their joints, safer for their bones, as well as being easy to sanitize.  This makes for happy paws and pups.
•  In our outside area, we have installed canine grade astroturf that is both anti-microbial and fungus resistant.   This  also means that, after playing outside, your dog doesn't come home with his/her fur caked in mud or grass.  
•  Our standard is to disinfect all surfaces and equipment twice daily with pet-safe cleaning products. 
• We are certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.
• We have continous Adaptil (tm) calm diffusers that help to soothe nervous energy.
• We are proud to say we are fully insured by Pro-Fur Insurance.
